Demos, Exhibitions and Activities

Second Saturday Spinners

Location: Outside

Second Saturday Spinners, a local fiber arts group, was founded as a knowledge sharing community of spinners, knitters and weavers.

Named for the monthly meeting day in Hellertown, the members demonstrate the very-much-current art of spinning at the Bethlehem Rose Garden, Farmers Market and various other festivals and markets in the Lehigh Valley.  The membership is comprised of experienced spinners, knitters, weavers and sheep breeders as well as those brand new to these disciplines.

We will demo a mix of modern and older spinning wheels in addition to some various types of fiber prep work and weaving.  We will have an extra wheel on hand for adults to try out and can offer some advice on wheels brought in. Questions may be address to our email address:  ssspinnerslv@gmail.com.

Mid Atlantic Sock Machine Knitters

Feel free to just come watch, or bring your machine and join in! From beginner to advanced all are welcome to join the group and have fun!
